Position Overview:

This role is integral to the Supplier Quality - Supplier Performance team at Lockheed Martin, focusing on enhancing supplier compliance and performance within the aerospace sector. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Supplier Performance, the selected candidate will serve as a technical consultant across various Product Centers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Production teams to ensure adherence to newly established quality metrics and improvement initiatives.
  • Educate and influence best practices and enhancements within Lockheed Martin and among suppliers to minimize defects and elevate SQE capabilities.
  • Drive standardization and foster effective collaboration across multiple functions and leadership teams.

Advanced Quality Methodologies:
Demonstrated proficiency in implementing Six Sigma, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies.

Project Management Skills:
Exhibit a strong capability to oversee intricate projects, including planning, scheduling, resource management, and execution.

Leadership Qualities:
Experience in guiding and inspiring teams to meet quality goals.

Communication Skills:
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities to effectively engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Technical Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of aerospace quality standards and regulations.

Integration Efforts:
Collaborate with Quality Program Teams to ensure timely delivery of SQE documentation and performance metrics.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or STEM field, or equivalent experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Expertise in Root Cause Corrective Action.
  • Proven history of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Development of performance enhancement plans, such as return-to-green or zero-defect strategies.

Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin processes and products.
  • Knowledge of product quality engineering competencies and hardware.
  • Understanding of Quality Systems including AS9100 and ISO 9001:2008.
  • Ability to identify risks and opportunities while applying Lean and Six Sigma tools.
  • Green Belt Certification or relevant technical experience, with progress towards Black Belt.
  • Facilitation and practical Lean/Six Sigma experience.
  • Capacity to manage significant responsibilities effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer.
  • Process Mapping capabilities.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions, build consensus, and articulate future objectives.

Work Environment:
This position allows for a hybrid work schedule, combining remote work with time spent at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
