Position Overview

The EPC Estimator plays a crucial role in the formulation of comprehensive estimates and proposals that are essential for engineering and design-build construction initiatives. This role is tasked with preparing and presenting fixed-price bids, proposals, and unit costs for a variety of projects across a broad spectrum of client types.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile material and labor expenses for client proposals related to construction projects.
  • Evaluate and integrate quotes concerning bonds and insurance into the estimates for further assessment.
  • Engage in outreach and assessment of small and disadvantaged businesses.
  • Conduct subcontractor outreach and pre-qualification processes.
  • Assess and incorporate pricing for specialized and standard equipment and materials into the estimates.
  • Prepare and distribute bid packages to subcontractors.
  • Present estimating data during site and pre-bid meetings.
  • Carry out subcontractor labor and market analysis, providing recommendations based on findings.
  • Develop project summary timelines.
  • Assess and validate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Assist in pre-construction services related to client estimates and joint venture evaluations.
  • Formulate and present estimating strategies and plans.
  • Research historical costs and maintain relevant databases.
  • Provide initial pricing for indirect and general conditions.
  • Evaluate fees, contingencies, and escalation factors, making informed recommendations.
  • Ensure the accuracy and validity of estimate clarifications and assumptions.
  • Analyze and price value engineering submissions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, along with a minimum of 3 years of direct project estimating experience.
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
  • Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively, demonstrating creative and analytical thinking, along with prompt and sound decision-making.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, ConEst, and K-Base software.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification is required.
