Job Overview

Primoris Energy Services Corporation is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in estimating projects related to power generation within the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) sector. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct project estimations in alignment with company policies and standards.
  • Lead strategic initiatives for successful project bidding.
  • Maintain market insight to ensure competitive pricing strategies.
  • Oversee project timelines to guarantee the punctual delivery of estimates.
  • Facilitate risk assessment discussions.
  • Occasionally visit client sites for presentations and evaluations.
  • Gather and prepare necessary documentation for estimation processes.
  • Determine labor, material, and time requirements through thorough analysis of project documents.
  • Assign tasks and prepare detailed estimates for various project components.
  • Keep comprehensive records of estimation documents and supplier pricing information.
  • Evaluate regional labor costs and applicable per diem rates.
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to refine estimates and address any concerns.
  • Compile special reports by analyzing data and identifying trends.
  • Enhance technical expertise through continuous education and training.
  • Review and validate estimates produced by the estimating team and engineering personnel.
  • Mentor junior estimators to foster their professional development.
  • Present detailed estimates to management and provide oversight for team-generated estimates.
  • Manage historical cost data and the overall estimating process.
  • Identify and address gaps in project scope through document review.
  • Compile recommendations for project enhancements and value engineering opportunities.
  • Develop lists of clarifications and exceptions related to estimates.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating industrial construction projects.
  • At least 5 years of experience in estimating power generation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of site preparation, underground utilities, and power generation systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other estimating software.
  • Familiarity with project management principles.
  • Ability to plan and package project work effectively.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Understanding of commercial terms and conditions relevant to project pricing.
