Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Inspector, Airfield to join our team at Avcon. As a key member of our aviation planning and design team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of airfield construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of airfield construction projects to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve construction-related issues and ensure project completion on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain detailed inspection reports and documentation to track project progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to project teams on construction methods, materials, and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance and quality.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in airfield construction inspection or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Inspection certifications (e.g. FAA, DOT).
  • Experience with Procore or other construction management software.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret airfield plans and specifications.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent travel to project sites, which may involve working in outdoor environments with varying weather conditions. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights is also required.
