DESCRIPTION

The Aquatic Programs Supervisor is responsible for the development and promotion of engaging aquatic initiatives at the Aquatic Center, adhering to established recreational standards and departmental guidelines. This role involves collaboration with colleagues, local businesses, educational institutions, community organizations, and the public to enhance program offerings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the daily operations of the swimming facilities and create innovative aquatic programs.
  • Encourage participation in swimming and related aquatic activities through the organization of revenue-generating events and competitions.
  • Oversee part-time lifeguard personnel, including their recruitment, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Design, execute, assess, and refine projects and programs while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Facilitate swimming instruction programs catering to a diverse audience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a related role.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Certification in water safety protocols from the American Red Cross, including lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and Water Safety Instruction. Strong understanding of competitive swimming and diving, along with knowledge of relevant sanctioning organizations.
  • Proficient in swimming pool management and operations.
  • Awareness of local health regulations pertaining to swimming facilities.
  • Competent in using computers and standard office equipment, as well as managing inventory for aquatic supplies and equipment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and supervise or train staff as needed.
  • Willingness to travel between various locations as required.
  • Possession or ability to obtain a valid state operator/driver's license.
Certification: First Aid, CPR, and AED certification must be obtained within six months of employment.

  • Environmental Factors: Willingness to work in various environmental conditions.
