Position Overview: Under the guidance of the Food Program Manager, the individual in this role will oversee menu planning, inventory management of food and supplies, and the procurement of food for various programs. Additionally, this position will manage the daily functions of the on-site food pantry.

Supervisory Responsibilities: May oversee one staff member.

Physical Requirements: This role demands a full range of motion, including strength in the back, legs, and arms for lifting tasks (e.g., unloading deliveries). Good flexibility is necessary, and the role can be stressful due to scheduling demands, requiring high energy levels. The employee must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.

Work Environment: Involves prolonged computer use, standing for inventory counts, moving boxes, and organizing stock.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Promote and adhere to safe work practices and procedures.
  2. Comply with all relevant USDA, CACFP, and SFSP policies and procedures.
  3. Conduct daily inventory checks of food stock, monitoring expiration dates and prioritizing items that expire first.
  4. Submit daily food quantity requirements, weekly meal needs, and current inventory levels.
  5. Collaborate with the Food Program Manager to determine the appropriate food quantities required.
  6. Complete and submit all necessary documentation to branch staff accurately.
  7. Maintain effective communication with the Program Director and Food Program Manager regarding operational issues and changes in food distribution.
  8. Develop and implement new food programs and distribution initiatives.
  9. Ensure adherence to the correct menu and maintain an updated menu on-site.
  10. Ensure accurate attendance and record-keeping for CACFP and SFSP, submitting all documentation punctually.
  11. Oversee the daily operations of the on-site food pantry, including inventory management, paperwork completion, and timely report submissions.
  12. Follow uniform and personal hygiene standards.
  13. Embrace and demonstrate the core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • ServSafe certification preferred.
  • Certifications required within 45 days of hire: CPR/AED, BBP, and First Aid.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage personnel effectively.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with standard business software.
  • Able to relate effectively to diverse groups from various social and economic backgrounds.
  • A clear criminal background check is required for this position.

Friday: 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM AND 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

During the Summer:

Monday - Thursday: 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Friday: 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM AND 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Occasional Saturdays may be required during both seasons.
