CMF's leadership is committed to allocating substantial resources annually to support solutions addressing systemic challenges in various sectors, including health care, education, and housing.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer will hold comprehensive strategic and operational oversight for the organization's programs, community outreach, financial management, administration, grants oversight, and communications.

The CEO will cultivate a culture that encourages collaboration, strategic thinking, and organizational effectiveness.

As the primary spokesperson for CMF, the CEO will represent the organization in its partnerships and alliances with stakeholders throughout Michigan.

Key Responsibilities

Vision & Mission
In collaboration with the Board of Directors and staff, further refine CMF's strategic approach to addressing systemic poverty and promoting equity.

Champion a culture of innovation aligned with CMF's strategic objectives, fostering creative ideas that advance the organization's mission and encourage continuous improvement.

Ensure program alignment with CMF's vision, mission, and goals.

Maintain effective communication channels with the Board, staff, and advisors to ensure collaboration and engagement.

Board Engagement

Develop meaningful relationships with the Board of Directors to understand CMF's philanthropic priorities.

Collaborate with the Board to enhance governance practices and establish effective committee structures.

Support ongoing Board development and education initiatives.

Organizational and Programmatic Leadership

Lead and inspire a dedicated team and external consultants, fostering an innovative and inclusive work environment.

Assist the team in refining a high-functioning grantmaking process and implementing effective learning and impact assessment mechanisms.

Oversee CMF's financial management, ensuring readiness for annual audits.

Guide organizational change management to support growth and evolution.

Encourage diverse perspectives and accountability through participatory leadership.

External Engagement

Shape public understanding of CMF's mission by serving as the public voice on relevant issues.

Maintain and expand relationships with foundations, leaders, policymakers, and other stakeholders.

Identify opportunities for Board members and staff to represent CMF in various forums.

Participate in conferences and events to stay informed about trends and research relevant to CMF's interests.

Qualifications

Salary Range: Starting at $270,000
