Kellogg Community Credit Union is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to enhance our leadership team.

As the Chief Technology Officer, you will play a pivotal role in strategizing, planning, and overseeing the Information Technology framework of the credit union. Your focus will be on crafting both short-term and long-term technology strategies that deliver efficient, cost-effective, and innovative technological solutions for the organization. You will guide the IT team in providing effective tools and support to all departments within KCCU.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with direct reports and the CIO to formulate and manage the execution of strategic operational plans for information technology that align with the credit union's overarching goals and business requirements.
  • Establish strategies, objectives, and performance metrics to ensure the IT department operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Take charge of enhancing business continuity processes, including disaster recovery and departmental recovery plans, while working closely with departmental leaders to conduct business impact assessments and develop security measures.
  • Investigate and analyze industry technology trends to maintain the credit union's competitive edge in its offerings. Stay informed about evolving trends in hardware, networks, software, and systems.
  • Assess, design, and modify technology platforms to improve both member and staff experiences.
  • Negotiate favorable contracts for acquiring new systems, hardware, software, or peripherals, as well as for service warranties and maintenance programs.
  • Formulate, update, and monitor compliance with disaster recovery plans, security protocols, and loss prevention strategies.
  • Ensure that operational manuals and documentation are accurate and current, complying with relevant regulations.
  • Oversee the department's budget in alignment with the credit union's strategic plan and financial framework.
  • Develop, implement, and assess policies and procedures for the IT department.

Qualifications:
  • Eight to ten years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • A Bachelor's degree, professional certification, or a Master's degree in a related field.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and influence team members.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities, particularly in risk assessment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, proficient computer skills, and effective time management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adept at building and nurturing professional relationships.
