Job Overview

What is this position about?

The Senior Portfolio Manager will represent primarily institutional clients, including foundations, endowments, and non-profit organizations. This role involves executing trades, managing various performance reporting systems, rebalancing portfolios, and preparing for client meetings or addressing inquiries. In collaboration with Client Centric Team members, the individual will assist in developing investment policy statements, determining asset allocation, coordinating investment selection and implementation, and monitoring client portfolios to align with client objectives. This position is office-based.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with prospective and existing clients regularly to ensure open communication regarding their portfolio status, economic conditions, and various wealth management strategies.
  • Oversee ongoing trading and performance reporting, including account rebalancing and overall portfolio maintenance.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge and expertise to provide innovative recommendations for managing client wealth.
  • Collaborate with team members to finalize the investment policy statement.
  • Develop and propose strategies to meet clients' investment goals in conjunction with the in-house Research Team and Wealth Management Team.
  • Manage all aspects of client portfolios, including executing trades, maintaining investment action plans, and conducting necessary reviews.
  • Work with the in-house Research Team and Wealth Management Team to enhance after-tax portfolio performance through strategic recommendations.
  • Conduct performance reviews with select clients and collaborate with teams to assess market changes and ensure appropriate asset allocations.
  • Implement new investment strategies and risk mitigation approaches in partnership with the in-house Research Team and Wealth Management Team.
  • Become a knowledgeable resource for Institutional Clients regarding portfolio strategies and performance reporting tools.
  • Provide analytical support for client initiatives.
  • Participate in assigned workgroups and projects.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of seven years of experience in responding to Requests For Proposals (RFPs) related to investment management and managing institutional portfolios.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to develop and refine complex financial models and analytical methodologies.
  • Collaborative mindset to foster a robust learning environment within the team.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
  • Positive attitude when discussing investment recommendations with team members.
  • Ability to navigate a complex environment with multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail and strong process improvement skills.
  • Familiarity with sales processes and tools like Salesforce.
  • Advanced knowledge of analysis tools such as Morningstar, FactSet, Bloomberg, and Addepar.
