Position Overview:
This is a full-time direct hire opportunity with a focus on onsite responsibilities.

Role Summary:
The Commissioning Project Manager is a seasoned engineering professional responsible for the comprehensive oversight of projects. This includes defining project parameters, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, coordinating and supervising tasks, and delivering projects punctually and within budgetary constraints.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Reports to the Client Service and PMO Manager.
Success hinges on strong collaborations with Administrative Services, Business Development, Project Managers, Engineering Managers, Principals, and other relevant departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Planning and Performance
    1. Achieve or surpass planned project multipliers.
    2. Manage project scope to ensure contract requirements are fulfilled and identify/report any additional work requests.
    3. Coordinate external schedules with project partners and develop the project charter.
    4. Review and approve monthly project invoices.
  2. Client and Portfolio Management
    1. Maintain high client satisfaction through prompt responses and timely delivery of high-quality work products.
    2. Secure future projects from existing clients.
    3. Assist Client Services in pursuing new business opportunities.
    4. Facilitate connections between project team technical leaders and client organizations.
  3. Project Delivery and Execution
    1. Establish internal milestones and align the work plan with the Engineering team to ensure timely project submissions.
    2. Ensure adherence to the project charter by the project team.
    3. Coordinate with architects and owners externally.
    4. Disseminate information promptly to maintain an efficient workflow.
    5. Prevent technical issues from affecting client satisfaction.
    6. Lead services during construction in collaboration with the Construction Administration group, ensuring responsiveness to shop drawings and RFIs.
  4. Professional and Technical Leadership
    1. Provide engineering expertise to clients.
    2. Offer technical guidance and direction to the project team.
    3. Encourage innovative solutions and communicate them effectively.
    4. Act as a recognized expert to clients and support marketing and branding initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • 5-8+ years of experience in engineering building systems is preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
  • EIT, PE, and/or LEED certifications are preferred.
  • General understanding of mechanical systems, including plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant principles and practices, including design, construction, and codes.
  • Proficient in utilizing computer systems for project management, with a strong understanding of CAD operations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Demonstrated skills in job knowledge, communication, leadership, planning, teamwork, decision-making, judgment, and problem-solving.
  • Capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
