Position Overview:
This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.

Role Summary:
The Commissioning Project Manager is a seasoned engineering professional responsible for overseeing project execution by defining objectives, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, coordinating activities, and delivering projects within established timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Planning and Management
    1. Achieve or surpass targeted project performance metrics.
    2. Manage project scope to ensure all contractual elements are fulfilled and identify any additional work requests.
    3. Coordinate schedules with external partners (architects, owners, etc.) and develop project charters.
    4. Review and approve monthly project invoices.
  2. Client Relationship Management
    1. Deliver exceptional client satisfaction through timely responses and high-quality deliverables, maintaining clear communication and technical excellence.
    2. Foster ongoing business relationships with existing clients to secure future projects.
    3. Assist in new business development initiatives on qualified leads.
    4. Ensure project team leaders maintain strong connections with client organizations.
  3. Project Execution and Delivery
    1. Establish internal milestones and align work plans with engineering teams to guarantee timely project submissions.
    2. Ensure adherence to the project charter by the project team.
    3. Facilitate external coordination with architects and owners.
    4. Disseminate project information promptly to maintain an efficient workflow.
    5. Address technical issues proactively to prevent client dissatisfaction.
    6. Lead construction administration efforts, ensuring responsiveness to shop drawings and RFIs, while participating in progress meetings and coordinating field activities.
  4. Technical Leadership
    1. Provide engineering insights and expertise to clients.
    2. Guide and mentor the project team with technical direction.
    3. Encourage innovative solutions and communicate effectively with clients and architects.
    4. Establish a reputation as a thought leader within the industry, supporting marketing and branding efforts.
Qualifications:
  • 5-8+ years of experience in engineering related to building systems is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
  • Professional certifications such as EIT, PE, and/or LEED are preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems, including plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of design principles, construction practices, and relevant codes.
  • Proficient in utilizing computer systems for project management, with a strong understanding of CAD operations.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Demonstrated skills in job knowledge, communication, leadership, planning, teamwork, decision-making, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
