The Private Capital Advisory Group ("PCA") at Lazard comprises a global team of over 85 professionals, specializing in Secondary/Capital Solutions Advisory and placement agent services for Private Equity, Private Credit, and Real Estate firms. PCA primarily engages with institutional investors, including sovereign wealth funds, public funds, corporate pension funds, foundations/endowments, financial institutions, and asset managers. We are currently seeking a Vice President for our primary capital raising operations, focusing on Private Equity and Private Credit, to engage with institutional investors across the Western United States and Canada. This role entails regular interaction with institutional investors, fund sponsors, and the Lazard Transaction Management teams throughout the marketing cycle. Frequent travel is a requirement for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture relationships with institutional investors; devise and implement strategies to secure interested investors.
  • Disseminate offering materials, facilitate fund manager roadshows, coordinate meetings, and maintain ongoing communication with the Transaction Management team.
  • Support the Transaction Management team in assessing and presenting new business opportunities.
  • Maintain databases of market intelligence and prepare business development presentations.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience, ideally in capital raising, investor relations, or investment banking.
  • A proven history of successful fundraising or demonstrated institutional sales capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A meticulous, organized, and confident communication style, both internally and externally.
  • A proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • A comprehensive understanding of private equity fundraising.
