Position Overview

The Office of the President - Adult Services is seeking a Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations to spearhead the management of shared clinical services across various inpatient and outpatient facilities. This role encompasses oversight of essential services including Laboratory, Pathology, Imaging, and Rehabilitation Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all clinical sites are equipped with the necessary teams and services to achieve their quality and safety objectives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures for shared clinical services.
  • Establish performance management objectives and track progress towards these goals.
  • Oversee procurement processes for equipment and supplies that support core services.
  • Allocate resources, including space and services, in alignment with strategic objectives and site-specific requirements.
  • Provide regulatory oversight to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.

This leadership position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer of UCSF Health.

Compensation

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Leadership Responsibilities

The Senior Vice President will manage an operating budget of approximately $1.5 billion and oversee a workforce of around 4000 full-time equivalents (FTE).

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, health administration, or a clinical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive executive management experience within a complex healthcare organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare delivery models, strategic planning, financial management, and organizational development.
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate effectively with medical center executives and external stakeholders.
  • Proven expertise in establishing metrics to drive operational excellence.
  • Strong skills in budget development, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient negotiation and influencing capabilities.
  • Ability to foster a culture of trust and commitment towards organizational goals.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in business, health administration, or a clinical field.
