Job Overview

SUMMARY: Guided by the core values and mission of Oakbridge Insurance Agency, the Employee Benefits Account Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting clients within the employee benefits sector. This position involves establishing strong relationships, addressing the needs of current and prospective clients, assessing their insurance requirements, and coordinating the implementation of benefit plans tailored to those needs. The primary objective is to deliver effective solutions for clients while fostering a positive relationship between the client and the agency.

This role specifically targets the small group market, focusing on organizations with 2-50 employees.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Oversee the marketing process for both new and renewal business opportunities.

· Evaluate plan alternatives; juxtapose existing plans with marketing outcomes.

· Analyze data received from various insurance carriers.

· Negotiate terms and conditions of rates and plans.

· Suggest products that align with clients' financial constraints, plan goals, and benefits philosophy.

· Collaborate with agency brokers to devise innovative and effective benefit solutions.

· Develop a structured enrollment timeline for assigned accounts.

· Coordinate specific enrollment strategies tailored to client needs.

· Conduct group meetings, whether in-person or via call center enrollments.

· Personalize enrollment materials and digital solutions.

· Ensure all selected enrollment materials are implemented with carriers.

· Address complex service requests from employers, including billing, claims, eligibility, and compliance matters.

· Supervise the creation, execution, and accuracy of contracts, benefits summaries, and Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs).

· Stay informed on industry trends and updates regarding new product development, legislation, and technology.

· Respond promptly to inquiries from clients, carriers, and brokers.

· Advise clients on compliance-related issues.

· Act as the agency's liaison among clients, carriers, and brokers on a daily basis.

· Cultivate and manage client relationships at all organizational levels.


QUALIFICATIONS:

- Proven ability to research, analyze, and resolve issues independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Skills in planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring, and adjusting in a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated sense of urgency in task completion.
- Proficient negotiation and closing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
- Outstanding customer service, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, or a related discipline.
- Fundamental understanding of medical, dental, vision, life, and disability income coverages, products, and industry operations.
- Life and Health Insurance License (to be obtained within 90 days).
