EPIC Insurance Brokers is in search of a dedicated Employee Benefits Compliance Consultant to support the Director of Compliance in managing employee benefits and group health and welfare compliance for a national employee benefits team. This role entails thorough research on current, pending, and emerging legislation pertinent to employee benefits laws, including but not limited to ACA, CAA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, IRS, and state regulations, as well as auditing both new and existing employee health and welfare plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate inquiries and challenges related to employee benefits and human resources, providing actionable solutions and recommendations to account teams and clients.
  • Assist the Director of Compliance in executing compliance and risk assessments for clients, offering insights and solutions to uphold compliant benefit programs.
  • Support the Director of Compliance in delivering training and educational sessions for staff and clients.
  • Draft and review informative content such as blog articles, monthly compliance updates, reference guides, FAQs, compliance checklists, and other client-facing and internal communications.
  • Stay informed on legislative and regulatory updates, analyzing changes and advising clients on necessary actions to ensure compliance with evolving regulations.
  • Facilitate client calls and meetings to engage with clients, address inquiries, and provide updates on legislative matters.
  • Conduct client-facing webinars on regulatory and legislative issues impacting employee benefits compliance.

Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a JD is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in employee benefits and/or human resources compliance, particularly in ERISA, ACA, CAA, HIPAA, COBRA, and IRS and state benefits legislation compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations governing human resources and employee benefits.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Self-motivated with a structured approach to work.
  • Exceptional research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to navigate a rapidly changing legislative and regulatory environment.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid environment.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.

The compensation package will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications, and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
