This role involves thorough research on current, pending, and new legislation related to employee benefits laws, including but not limited to ACA, CAA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, IRS, and state legislation, as well as auditing existing employee health and welfare plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on employee benefits and human resources inquiries, providing solutions, recommendations, and analyses to account teams and clients.
  • Assist the Director of Compliance in performing compliance and risk assessments for clients, offering recommendations to ensure adherence to benefit program regulations.
  • Support the Director of Compliance in delivering training and educational sessions for staff and clients.
  • Draft and review blog posts, monthly compliance updates, reference guides, FAQ documents, compliance checklists, model notice packets, and other client-facing and internal communications.
  • Stay informed on legislative and regulatory updates by reading relevant articles daily, analyzing changes, and advising clients on necessary compliance actions.
  • Facilitate client calls and meetings to engage with clients, address inquiries, and provide updates on legislative changes.
  • Lead client-facing webinars on regulatory and legislative matters impacting employee benefits compliance.

Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a JD is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in employee benefits and/or human resources compliance, particularly in ERISA, ACA, CAA, HIPAA, COBRA, and IRS/state benefits legislation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations governing human resources and employee benefits.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of structuring work independently.
  • Exceptional research and critical thinking abilities.
  • Adaptability to a rapidly evolving legislative and regulatory environment.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.

The base salary will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications, and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
