Semiconductor Components Industries, LLC is a leading global semiconductor manufacturer dedicated to providing high-quality products and services. As the Senior Director of Supplier Quality, you will be instrumental in ensuring the excellence of our supply chain. This includes the development of supplier quality initiatives, the establishment of quality management systems and benchmarks, and collaboration with the corporate quality team to foster continuous improvement in alignment with our customers' quality expectations. This position reports directly to the Chief Procurement Officer and oversees a global team of approximately 30 professionals.

Key Responsibilities

In this capacity, you will:

Exhibit Leadership and Strategic Vision:

  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive global supplier quality strategy that aligns with the overarching quality goals of the organization.
  • Encourage collaboration with various business units, manufacturing sectors, and quality management teams.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to enhance total quality management and drive continuous improvement in supplier quality processes.
  • Utilize established quality methodologies such as 8D problem solving, 5 Whys, Kaizen events, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to lead the organization.
  • Partner with the Chief Procurement Officer to enhance and lead a robust Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) organization.
  • Develop and maintain an effective supplier performance data management system, incorporating inputs from supplier quality performance and on-site quality evaluations.
  • Set supplier quality objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), reporting metrics, and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with critical suppliers to ensure robust process controls are established and maintained for high-risk failure modes.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments.
  • Implement swift and effective containment measures.

Lead Supplier Quality Management:

  • Work closely with sourcing leaders in supplier evaluation, performance monitoring, and risk management.
  • Ensure successful new product introductions and production ramp-ups with suppliers, particularly for new technologies, processes, and materials.
  • Foster strong relationships with key suppliers to drive ongoing improvements and a quality roadmap.
  • Establish and maintain an effective supplier performance data management system.
  • Set supplier quality objectives, KPIs, reporting metrics, and dashboards.
  • Partner with critical suppliers to ensure effective process controls are in place for high-risk failure modes.
  • Lead supplier audits and assessments.
  • Execute prompt and effective containment actions.

Ensure Quality Assurance:

  • Guarantee compliance with ISO and automotive industry standards.
  • Address corrective actions arising from internal and external audits.
  • Provide and implement rapid and effective containment measures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in supplier quality management within the semiconductor sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and operations.
  • Experience in product quality and reliability, customer quality, product/process development, engineering, failure analysis, and the automotive market is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor device and package failure mechanisms and symptoms.
  • Proficient technical problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with quality tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent influence and negotiation skills to manage challenging situations.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.
