In the role of Senior Director of Supplier Quality, you will be instrumental in guaranteeing the excellence of our supply chain. This position reports directly to the Chief Procurement Officer & VP External Manufacturing and oversees a global team of approximately 30 professionals.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will:

Exhibit Leadership and Strategic Vision:

  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive global supplier quality strategy that aligns with the organization's overarching quality goals.
  • Encourage collaboration with various business units, manufacturing, and quality management teams.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to promote total quality management and continuous improvement in supplier quality processes.
  • Utilize recognized quality methodologies such as 8D problem solving, 5 Whys, Kaizen events, SPC, and others to lead the organization.
  • Partner with the CPO to enhance and direct a robust Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) organization.
  • Create and sustain an effective supplier performance data management system, incorporating insights from supplier quality metrics and on-site quality evaluations.
  • Set supplier quality objectives, KPIs, reporting metrics, and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with key suppliers to ensure robust process controls are established and maintained for high-risk failure modes.
  • Conduct supplier audits and evaluations.
  • Implement swift and effective containment measures.

Oversee Supplier Quality Management:

  • Engage with Sourcing Leaders in supplier assessment, performance tracking, and risk management.
  • Ensure successful new product introductions and production ramp-ups with suppliers, particularly for innovative technologies, processes, and materials.
  • Foster strong relationships with critical suppliers to drive continuous improvement and establish a quality roadmap.
  • Maintain an effective supplier performance data management system with inputs from supplier quality performance and on-site evaluations.
  • Set supplier quality goals, KPIs, reporting metrics, and dashboards.
  • Partner with key suppliers to ensure effective process controls are in place for high-risk failure modes.
  • Lead supplier audits and assessments.
  • Execute rapid and effective containment strategies.

Ensure Quality Assurance:

  • Guarantee compliance with ISO and automotive industry standards.
  • Address corrective actions stemming from internal and external audits.
  • Implement and execute swift and effective containment measures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in supplier quality management within the semiconductor industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and operations.
  • Experience in product quality and reliability, customer quality, product/process development, engineering, failure analysis, and the automotive market is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor device and package failure mechanisms.
  • Proficient in technical problem-solving and hands-on skills with quality tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent influence and negotiation skills to manage challenging situations.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.
