Role Summary

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations.

In this role, you will manage all facets of payroll processing, ensuring precision, adherence to regulations, and timely disbursements for both our payroll clients and internal teams. You will work closely with various departments to collect and verify payroll data, address discrepancies, and deliver outstanding service to clients and employees. Additionally, you will collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to enhance our payroll offerings.

The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of payroll legislation, a commitment to exceptional service, the capability to lead a small team effectively, and a strong dedication to confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish systems and procedures to ensure a smooth payroll experience for clients and employees
  • Oversee payroll processing and updates (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises) and system enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies
  • Lead a team of payroll specialists to meet client payroll requirements
  • Coordinate with auditors and manage payroll tax audits
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and accounting departments
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and generate reports
  • Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues
  • Work with the sales team to discuss payroll service offerings with clients
  • Partner with marketing to create campaigns aimed at expanding our payroll services

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of payroll management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll processes, labor laws, taxation, and compliance in the US
  • Experience managing payroll audits and compliance reviews
  • Proficient in payroll software and systems, such as ADP, Gusto, Trinet, Paylocity, with experience in implementation and management
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and the ability to reconcile payroll with financial records
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing complex payroll data
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet payroll deadlines and handle multiple tasks
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with employees at all levels
  • High integrity and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex payroll issues to clients
  • Skilled in articulating the value of Zeni's payroll services to potential clients

Compensation

The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to fall within the range of $135,000 - $155,000, depending on geographic location and individual qualifications.

Travel Requirements
