Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Team Lead to oversee daily operational activities in our field operations. This role is crucial in managing the workflow of technicians, ensuring that both emergency and scheduled tasks are executed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and prioritize daily tasks for technicians within the designated area.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and resources are available for both urgent and planned operations.
  • Report to the Area Supervisor and provide support in their absence.
  • Act as a temporary replacement for team members when necessary.
  • Facilitate training for new employees and offer guidance to those needing additional support.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of subordinate staff to ensure effective task completion.
  • Oversee the correct use of business software, including Service Link, SAP, and TimeTrack.
  • Approve time entries for team members.
  • Evaluate contractor work to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors to support utility fieldwork.
  • Assist in managing inventory and ensure adherence to control procedures.
  • Primarily work in the field with limited office time.
  • Participate in on-call field supervision as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Operations and Maintenance, preferably in Wastewater Utility systems.
  • IEPA Municipal Wastewater Operator minimum Class 3 license required.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's license required; CDL preferred, with a Class-C CDL and HazMat endorsement to be obtained within 6 months of employment.
  • Must reside within a reasonable distance from the operational area.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Capability to interpret technical information from plans and specifications.
  • Team-oriented with effective multitasking skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to varying environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and noise.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Requirements for manual dexterity and communication.
  • Travel to various work sites as necessary.
