Role Summary

Zeni is seeking a meticulous and experienced payroll manager to oversee payroll operations.

In this role, you will manage all facets of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely disbursements for our payroll clients as well as our internal team. You will work closely with various departments to collect and verify payroll data, address discrepancies, and deliver outstanding service to both clients and employees. Additionally, you will collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to enhance our payroll offerings.

The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of payroll regulations, a commitment to exceptional service, leadership skills to guide a small team, and a strong dedication to confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish systems and procedures to ensure a smooth payroll experience for clients and employees
  • Oversee payroll processing and adjustments (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises) and system enhancements
  • Ensure adherence to applicable laws and internal policies
  • Lead a team of payroll professionals to effectively meet client payroll requirements
  • Coordinate with auditors and manage payroll tax audits
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and accounting departments
  • Maintain precise records and generate reports
  • Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues
  • Engage with the sales team to discuss our payroll services with clients
  • Work with the marketing team to create campaigns aimed at expanding our payroll business

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of payroll management experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll processes, labor laws, taxation, and compliance in the US
  • Experience with payroll audits and compliance evaluations
  • Proficient in payroll software and systems, such as ADP, Gusto, Trinet, Paylocity, with experience in implementation and management
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and the ability to reconcile payroll with financial records
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling complex payroll data
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet payroll deadlines and manage multiple tasks
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with employees at all levels
  • High integrity and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex payroll issues to clients
  • Skill in discussing the benefits of Zeni's payroll services with potential clients

Compensation Package

Your base salary is a component of your overall compensation. The expected salary range for this position is as follows, with actual pay depending on geographic location, skills, experience, and education. Zeni uses market data to inform compensation, and figures may change as new data becomes available. This information is accurate as of the posting date, and Zeni reserves the right to modify it as necessary.

Salary Range: $135,000 - $155,000

Travel Requirements

Team members participate in offsite events across the US for planning, collaboration, learning, and celebration. All standard travel expenses are covered. Candidates must be willing to meet these travel requirements.
