Key Responsibilities:
The Culinary Supervisor acts as the primary support in the kitchen, overseeing food preparation and production. In the absence of the Executive Chef, the Culinary Supervisor takes on all responsibilities.

Key duties include assisting in the recruitment, training, and development of kitchen staff; organizing, assigning, and supervising tasks; evaluating performance; recognizing and addressing issues; and resolving conflicts.

Design and propose menus and recipes

Streamline food production processes to enhance efficiency and consistency

Implement purchasing guidelines, inventory requisition systems, product storage protocols, standardized recipes, and waste management practices

Support the Executive Chef in hiring, managing, and guiding kitchen personnel

Educate kitchen staff on food production techniques and ensure adherence to recipes and standards

Assist the Executive Chef in scheduling kitchen staff based on business needs and budgetary constraints

Train service staff on food preparation, ingredients, nutritional information, and special dietary considerations

Required Qualifications:


Customer Service and Professionalism – The Culinary Supervisor sets the standard for exceptional service and quality, serving as a role model for all team members.

This role necessitates a comprehensive understanding of industry best practices and customer service excellence.


Effective Communication – This position demands attention to detail in both verbal and non-verbal communication, fostering collaboration among kitchen staff, front-of-house personnel, and management.

Must be able to comprehend instructions, interpret written communications, and engage with minimal guidance.

Interpersonal Skills – Must adapt to diverse personalities of clients, vendors, and colleagues while maintaining focus. High ethical standards and professionalism are essential to avoid conflicts.

Problem Solving, Quality Assurance, and Prioritization – Must assess current practices and identify areas for improvement; promptly recognize potential conflicts; and initiate enhancements to business methods, product quality, and customer service.


Conflict Resolution – A Culinary Supervisor must identify issues as they arise and resolve them effectively using sound judgment, tact, and initiative in accordance with company policies.

Requires impartial mediation skills to address conflicts at all supervisory levels and the ability to negotiate effectively.

Information Management – Must enhance food preparation services by incorporating ingredient modifications to highlight unique recipes.

Adaptability – Must be willing to work overtime as necessary and assist colleagues with their workloads.

Knowledge of health and sanitation regulations applicable to the State of Colorado.

Familiarity with computer/POS systems, including all MS Office applications.

Ability to supervise others effectively while demonstrating self-discipline.

Understanding of efficient restaurant and bar operations.

Availability for a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Must successfully complete a food handling and sanitation certification.

Knowledge of liquid and weight measurements and temperature standards.
