Responsibilities:

  • Configure and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions as needed.
  • Perform regular database maintenance, including backup and recovery processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure databases meet application and system requirements.
  • Optimize and tune database performance, including query optimization and index management.
  • Conduct capacity planning to anticipate database growth and resource needs.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and processes.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of four years of experience working as a Database Administrator with either Oracle or SQL Server databases.
  • Proficiency in database management systems and strong experience with database design, implementation, maintenance, and security.
  • In-depth knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAFe Agile or SAFe for Teams certification.
  • Experience working as a Database Administrator supporting TMIP-J application.
  • Experience with DevSecOps.
  • Relevant certifications in database administration.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in a stationary position for more than 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
