Key Responsibilities:

SQL Server Operations Specialist for a Large-Scale SQL Environment:
  • Install, configure, and oversee both new and existing SQL Server instances.
  • Ensure business continuity through effective disaster recovery solutions.
  • Administer SQL security protocols.

Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution in a Complex Environment:
  • Provide expertise in SQL development and performance tuning.
  • Maintain enterprise-level data movement applications.

Additional Duties:
  • Support application development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate helpdesk records using the ticket management system.
  • Plan and execute scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in capacity planning and the formulation of long-term strategic objectives for systems and services.
  • Design, install, monitor, and optimize production databases to ensure high data availability.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee database policies and procedures to guarantee the integrity and accessibility of databases and their associated software.
  • Assist in the design, coding, and scheduling of scripts/jobs for database updates, maintenance, or transfers, simplifying data entry for users.
  • Investigate errors and aid in problem diagnosis and solution development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on compatibility issues and system upgrades.
  • Generate metrics, project status reports, and operational status updates for management and team members.
  • Participate in the design and enhancement of database architectures.
  • Review changes to database designs to comprehend impacts on data storage characteristics.
  • Enhance job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, and participation in professional organizations.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of information within managed systems.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in management information systems, information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in MS-SQL Server administration.
  • Proficient in security, SQL queries, views, and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in data backup and recovery processes.
  • Monitor database performance, implement necessary changes, and apply updates as required.
  • Extensive understanding of data warehouse strategies and maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex information and determine corrective actions.
  • Experience with third-party tools.
  • Proficient in scripting.
  • Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Ability to generate and maintain documentation.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
