Position Overview

PeaceHealth is seeking a Nutrition Specialist I in the Nutrition Services department for a Per Diem/Relief, Day role. The compensation range for this position is $31.70 – $47.54, with the hiring rate influenced by various factors such as education, training, and relevant experience.

Job Responsibilities

This role involves managing all facets of nutritional care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals as necessary.

Key Duties:
  • Utilize the Nutrition Care Process effectively, including conducting nutrition assessments, identifying nutritional diagnoses, implementing suitable nutrition interventions, and establishing patient-specific goals while monitoring and evaluating outcomes.
  • Deliver nutrition education to patients and their families in both outpatient and inpatient environments, adhering to evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines.
  • Provide consultation services to fellow healthcare providers and engage in interdisciplinary team activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in line with established policies and regulations.
  • Refer patients to additional services, agencies, and community resources when appropriate.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess the ability to design, implement, and assess educational materials. A current Medicare provider status number may be required. Applicants should be a Registered Dietitian or eligible for registration (must pass the Registration Exam within 90 days). Current licensure or certification as mandated by the state is also required.

Education Requirements:
  • A Master's Degree in a related field is necessary. Caregivers who obtained their RD license prior to the new requirements will be grandfathered in.

Work Environment

Time will be spent on-site in a medical or hospital setting or in an office environment.
