Role Responsibilities
This role entails overseeing all facets of nutritional care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals as necessary.
- Utilize the Nutrition Care Process effectively, which includes conducting nutrition assessments, identifying nutritional diagnoses, implementing suitable nutrition interventions, and establishing patient-specific goals.
- Monitor, evaluate, and follow up on outcomes to ensure optimal patient care.
- Provide nutrition education to patients and their families in both outpatient and inpatient environments, adhering to evidence-based guidelines.
- Offer consultative services to fellow healthcare providers and engage in interdisciplinary team discussions.
- Document all relevant information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in compliance with established policies and regulations.
- When appropriate, facilitate referrals to additional services, agencies, and community resources.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to design, implement, and assess educational materials. A current Medicare provider status number may be necessary. Candidates must be a Registered Dietitian or eligible for registration (must pass the Registration Exam within 90 days). Current licensure or certification as mandated by state regulations is required.
Mandatory Requirements within 90 Days:
Registered Dietitian status is required at the time of hire or candidates must pass the Registration Exam. A Master's Degree in a relevant field is also required. Caregivers who obtained their RD license prior to a specific date when a bachelor's degree was sufficient will be considered under grandfathering provisions.
Work Environment
This position involves working on-site in a medical or hospital setting or in an office environment.
