Position Overview

PeaceHealth is seeking a Nutrition Specialist I within the Nutrition Services department for a Per Diem/Relief, Day role. The compensation range for this position is $31.70 – $47.54, influenced by various factors such as education, experience, and applicable agreements.

Role Responsibilities

This role entails overseeing all facets of nutritional care and collaborating with other healthcare professionals as necessary.

Key Duties


1. Proficient application of the Nutrition Care Process, which includes:
- Conducting nutrition assessments
- Identifying nutritional diagnoses
- Implementing suitable nutrition interventions
- Establishing patient-specific goals
- Monitoring, evaluating, and following up on outcomes.


2. Delivering nutrition education to patients and families in both outpatient and inpatient environments, utilizing evidence-based guidelines.


3. Providing consultation services to other healthcare providers and engaging in interdisciplinary team efforts.


4. Documenting in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in line with established policies and regulations.


5. Referring patients to additional services, agencies, and community resources when appropriate.


Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must:

- Be capable of designing, implementing, and assessing instructional materials.
- Hold a current Medicare provider status number, if required.
- Be a Registered Dietitian or eligible for registration (must pass the Registration Exam within 90 days).
- Maintain current licensure/certification as mandated by state regulations.

Requirements within 90 Days:
- Registered Dietitian status required at hire or must pass the Registration Exam.

Educational Background:
- A Master's Degree in a relevant field is necessary. Caregivers who obtained their RD license prior to a specific date when a bachelor's degree sufficed will be grandfathered.

Work Environment

Work will be conducted in a medical/hospital setting or office environment.
