Position Overview:

The candidate is expected to work in a hybrid model, balancing in-office presence with remote work as per the established schedule.

Role Responsibilities:

Under general oversight, the individual will engage in a variety of administrative tasks that necessitate a solid understanding of underwriting protocols and policies to assist the professional team effectively. This role demands sound judgment, initiative, and effective communication skills.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating the sales process through preparation for new and renewal policies, which involves gathering essential internal and external information, reviewing and annotating critical data, and maintaining clear communication with agencies.
  • Managing tasks such as prospect and customer data entry, policy issuance, endorsements, correspondence with policyholders, multi-state quoting, and maintaining producer files.
  • Generating management or marketing reports, addressing Premium Audit issues, handling past due collections, and issuing cancellation, rescission, and reinstatement notices daily.

Relationship Management:

Fostering strong internal and external relationships is crucial to delivering an exceptional underwriting product and customer service experience. The role requires clear communication and collaboration with underwriters and agents.

File Management:

The individual will be responsible for ensuring file completeness and assisting underwriters in prioritizing accounts. Flexibility in tasks and procedures is essential, as the needs of the underwriter may shift rapidly.

Problem Solving:

Under supervision, the candidate will utilize their experience and independent judgment to determine the most effective approach to achieve desired outcomes, often guided by established procedures and policies. Identifying and addressing problems promptly is vital, with complex issues referred to supervisors or underwriters.

Collaboration and Professionalism:

Working productively and harmoniously with colleagues is expected, along with a positive response to feedback and direction. Maintaining a professional demeanor consistently is essential.

Additional Duties:

The role may include providing guidance and training to newer staff members and assuming backup responsibilities in the absence of underwriters or other assistants.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with 0-3 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in computer skills, strong mathematical and reading abilities, and familiarity with policy systems are preferred. Experience in the insurance industry is advantageous. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication abilities, are essential.
