Key Responsibilities- Commercial Credit Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis of credit reports, financial statements, tax returns, appraisals, and other relevant documents to complete loan presentations for approval consideration.
- Financial Statement Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial statement spreads to determine overall credit strengths and weaknesses of potential commercial credit customers.
- Collateral Analysis: Perform and complete a collateral analysis of all collateral assets, including accounts receivables, inventory, equipment, and real estate.
- Credit Classification Analysis: Perform credit classification analysis to include the company's customer base, a detailed credit profile of the company's largest customers, and delinquent accounts.
- Inventory and Equipment Analysis: Perform inventory and equipment analysis, including inventory in days, stale inventory, spoilage, depletion, and inventory valuations, as well as equipment analysis, including market value to book value and net orderly liquidation values.
- Real Estate Collateral Analysis: Perform real estate collateral analysis, including examination of appraisal and special and single-purpose use facilities and alternative uses.
- Customer Communication: Contact customers or their representatives to obtain additional information or explanation throughout the underwriting process.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and assess various business, industry, and market risks to determine and categorize business trends, growth, cyclical nature, seasonality, business cycle, and stages, and apply findings to credit evaluation.
- Business Sector Analysis: Perform business sector analyses to evaluate the health and viability of a company based on similar businesses and/or competitors.
- Economic Analysis: Evaluate the overall growth potential of companies based on the application of various economic theories.
- Ordering Underwriting Items: Order underwriting items, including audit, TLJ, and UCC searches, appraisals, environmental, flood certification, and property inspections from both internal and external sources.
- Final Funding Reconciliation: Approve final funding reconciliation in Vendor Services.
- Vendor Order Costs: Record and maintain external vendor order costs in Vendor Services.
- Coaching and Mentoring: Serve as a coach and mentor to Credit Analyst trainees.
- Other Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree.
- Experience: 5+ years in a commercial credit analysis function within a financial institution.
- Leadership Experience: Prior leadership experience, preferred.
- Credit Training: Formal credit training, preferred.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Be recognized as a strategic thinker and creative problem solver.
- Decision-Making Skills: Demonstrated high-level problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Communication Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
- Self-Motivation: Be self-motivated and an effective time and project manager with a strong attention to detail.
- Change Management: Have strong change management, organizational, and planning capabilities.
- Problem Identification: Ability to identify, understand, and define problems, evaluate alternatives, set priorities, manage projects, and implement high-quality solutions.
- Organizational Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to directly manage and communicate multiple projects and priorities depending on organizational needs and strategies.
- Communication Skills: Possess strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office equipment. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices.
Byline Bank offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. We regularly review and adjust our compensation structure as needed to ensure equity across teams and levels.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $105,000. Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Byline Bank offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
