Position Overview

The organization is in search of an experienced Director of Technology Operations to report directly to the CTO. This role is pivotal in steering the development of a hybrid cloud infrastructure, creating a cohesive vision and strategic direction to unify eight distinct business units into a singular architecture. Key responsibilities will encompass oversight of infrastructure, networking, identity management, security, and help desk operations, with immediate focus on networking and identity management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with executive leadership and business unit heads on strategic technical operational initiatives aligned with the company's three-year business strategy.
  • Drive digital transformation efforts, transitioning from monolithic platforms to cutting-edge systems.
  • Mentor and nurture team members, providing guidance for their professional development while fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
  • Design, implement, and manage a hybrid cloud environment, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises systems and cloud services.
  • Oversee network infrastructure with a strong emphasis on Cisco technologies (firewalls, switches, wireless) in distributed settings, including advanced routing.
  • Exhibit deep expertise in core infrastructure services (compute, networking, storage, etc.), architecture, and optimization.
  • Administer MS 365 and Google Workspace environments.
  • Manage Active Directory in hybrid, cloud, or on-premise configurations.
  • Implement identity management solutions using Azure with SSO capabilities.
  • Supervise daily operations of the technology infrastructure, providing guidance and escalation support to the team.
  • Drive budgeting, vendor management, and infrastructure roadmap development to support business objectives.
  • Plan and execute cloud migration projects, ensuring secure and efficient transitions of data and workloads.
  • Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and emerging technologies that align with business needs.
  • Conduct infrastructure assessments to identify optimization opportunities and areas for enhancement.
  • Collaborate with the CTO and security operations partner to ensure infrastructure designs adhere to security principles and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Preferred bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field; master's degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in a senior technology operations role, with a proven track record of managing and leading development teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft cloud architecture and strategy.
  • CISCO certifications are highly recommended; experience with Juniper networks is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Entra ID and Intune.
  • In-depth knowledge of Veeam and Azure Backup solutions for backup and disaster recovery.
  • Significant experience with VMware vSphere and VMware VSAN for virtualization.
  • Understanding of Dell PowerVault ME5 Arrays and AWS QNAP for storage solutions.
  • Expertise in PFSense and OpenVPN for secure remote access.
  • Demonstrated experience in hybrid cloud environments, networking, and identity management.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
