Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Director of Technology Operations to report directly to the CTO, tasked with guiding the transformation of our hybrid cloud infrastructure. This role will be pivotal in establishing a unified architectural vision across our eight distinct business units. Key focus areas will encompass infrastructure, networking, identity management, security, and help desk operations. The immediate priorities include enhancing our networking capabilities and identity management systems. This position offers the chance to spearhead an infrastructure overhaul, cultivate a skilled team, and contribute significantly to building a secure, efficient, and scalable technology framework for our dynamic eCommerce environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with executive leadership and business unit heads on strategic technical initiatives that align with our three-year business objectives.
  • Lead digital transformation efforts, transitioning from outdated platforms to cutting-edge systems.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Design, implement, and manage our hybrid cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises and cloud-based systems.
  • Oversee network infrastructure with strong expertise in Cisco technologies (firewalls, switches, wireless) in distributed settings, including advanced routing.
  • Demonstrate deep proficiency in core infrastructure services (compute, networking, storage) and optimization strategies.
  • Manage MS 365 and Google Workspace environments.
  • Oversee Active Directory management, whether in a hybrid, cloud, or on-premises setup.
  • Implement identity management solutions using Azure with Single Sign-On capabilities.
  • Supervise daily operations of our technology infrastructure, providing guidance and support to the team.
  • Drive budgeting, vendor management, and infrastructure roadmap development in alignment with business goals.
  • Plan and execute cloud migration projects, ensuring secure and efficient transitions of data and workloads.
  • Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and emerging technologies to meet business needs.
  • Conduct infrastructure assessments to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Work closely with the CTO and security operations partner to ensure infrastructure designs adhere to security principles and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Preferred bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; master's degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years in a senior technology operations role, with a proven track record of managing and leading development teams.
  • Extensive experience in Microsoft cloud architecture and strategy.
  • CISCO certifications are highly recommended; experience with Juniper networks is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Entra ID and Intune.
  • In-depth knowledge of Veeam and Azure Backup solutions for backup and disaster recovery.
  • Extensive experience with VMware vSphere and VMware VSAN for virtualization.
  • Familiarity with Dell PowerVault ME5 Arrays and AWS QNAP for storage solutions.
  • Expertise in PFSense and OpenVPN for secure remote access.
  • Proven experience in hybrid cloud environments, networking, and identity management.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
