Job Description

Job Summary:

Varsity Tutors is seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Director of Cybersecurity and Risk Management to join our team. This role is pivotal in safeguarding our organization's information assets, developing and implementing robust security strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and Implement Security Strategies: Develop and lead the implementation of comprehensive security strategies to protect our organization's information assets from internal and external threats.
  • Lead Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including Privacy, GDPR, CCPA, SOX, NIST, and other relevant standards.
  • Manage Security Operations: Oversee the management of security operations, including incident response, threat hunting, and vulnerability management.
  • Develop and Lead Security Teams: Build and lead high-performing security teams, including security engineers, analysts, and architects.
  • Collaborate with Business Leaders: Work closely with business leaders to ensure alignment between security strategies and business objectives.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Emerging Threats: Stay current with emerging security threats and technologies, and design security architectures to mitigate them.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in security leadership roles, with a strong background in security strategy, risk management, and compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing security strategies, leading security teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of security technologies, including cloud security, network security, and application security.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate security teams.
