Job Summary

The role involves the design, development, documentation, deployment, and maintenance of the Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) application utilized by the Large Deck New Construction Integrated Product Team (IPT). The application is managed through a spiral development approach, allowing for deployment to end users while simultaneously supporting a development cycle to accommodate evolving requirements. The tool is developed, deployed, and maintained in alignment with DoD security protocols: the code is crafted to mitigate security vulnerabilities, the host system and applications are regularly updated in accordance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and data is secured and backed up in a protected environment.

Telework is fully supported. Travel is not a requirement.

Responsibilities and Duties

The successful candidate will:

  • Utilize PHP, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, Apache, bash, GIT, and relational databases proficiently.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the software architecture of the application.
  • Translate new user requirements into actionable implementation plans that align with the existing application architecture.
  • Develop code modules to enhance the application based on current software architecture and new user requirements.
  • Review and modify existing code to rectify software bugs.
  • Serve as a Database Administrator, managing data access for new users of the application.
  • Understand the database schema and its relationship to the application.
  • Provide maintenance services including data migration and backup.
  • Act as a System/Cyber Security Administrator, performing basic system administration on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) host.
  • Update and patch systems and applications, ensuring compliance with Information Assurance Vulnerability Management System (IAVMS).
  • Conduct weekly scans on systems and address any findings.
  • Support the coordination of Cybersecurity Testing and Evaluation in accordance with DoDI and the DoD Risk Management Framework.

Qualifications and Skills

Required knowledge and years of experience

Minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience in Cybersecurity and Code Development.

Proficiency in Linux, RHEL/CENTOS/Fedora system administration is essential. Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and application pipelines is required. Experience in applying STIGs and utilizing scanning tools for compliance verification is necessary. A basic understanding of networking concepts such as CIDR, DNS, routers, and switches is expected. Knowledge of PKI certificates, OCSP, OpenSSL, and Open Source Software principles is also required. Experience in configuring Apache HTTP server on a Linux OS, including virtual hosts and OCSP authentication for PKI certificates, is essential. Proficiency in MySQL/MariaDB Server, data modeling, relational databases, SQL, PDO, and web scripting languages (PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS) is necessary. Familiarity with Git and GitHub is also required.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required.

Certifications

Cybersecurity Workforce Framework (CSWF) certification is mandatory. A minimum of AIT Level 1 and certification as a Linux System Administrator (preferably Red Hat Certified System Administrator) is required.

Clearance Requirement

Secret clearance is necessary.
