Job Overview

The Senior Director of Logistics Operations plays a crucial role in steering the expansion of Goodwill's eCommerce sector. This leadership position oversees a team of over 70 individuals dedicated to the assessment, documentation, photography, listing, inventory management, and distribution of secondhand goods, alongside team development and strategic initiatives aimed at maximizing revenue. This role establishes performance expectations, trains team members, and ensures accountability to operational standards and systems. As the digital extension of the organization, this position encourages team members to leverage technology as a fundamental business tool. The Director collaborates extensively with both internal and external partners to achieve operational excellence while nurturing a culture of innovation and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Build, cultivate, and guide a high-performing eCommerce team across various locations.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture that emphasizes motivation, recognition, coaching, and performance management.

Revenue Generation and Business Growth:

  • Drive overall revenue for the organization to meet and surpass financial targets.
  • Enhance eCommerce revenue growth through strategic planning, execution, sales optimization, and marketplace management.
  • Utilize business intelligence tools, key performance indicators, and other metrics to analyze business performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing and other departments to improve online marketing and promotional efforts.
  • Optimize product pricing and inventory management to maximize resale value.
  • Ensure a customer-centric approach, focusing on both internal and external satisfaction.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee daily eCommerce operations, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Manage process improvements and adaptations in a dynamic marketplace.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with retail locations, donation sources, and third-party vendors to support eCommerce initiatives.

Financial Management and Reporting:

  • Oversee eCommerce budgets, monitor financial performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports to guide decision-making processes.

Strategy and Innovation:

  • Develop and implement eCommerce strategies to drive revenue growth and fulfill organizational goals.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and technological advancements, managing execution and acceptance of changes.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation and experimentation within the team.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in warehouse operations and team management.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in warehouse operations or sales is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in retail, eCommerce, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in secondhand marketplaces, ideally with Goodwill or a similar organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive eCommerce growth and profitability.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in eCommerce platforms, SAS applications, and CRM solutions.
  • A data-driven mindset with robust analytical skills.
