Overview:

Position Summary:

The Senior Director, Supply Chain Operations is a key leadership role in the Supply Chain team and is responsible for driving supply chain excellence through execution of the defined supply chain strategy, driving standard systems and processes, defining best practice and leading performance improvement. The individual is responsible for the operational activities along the supply chain including logistics and warehousing; planning and systems; performance management & improvement; and reporting & analytics.

The role spans the end-to-end supply chain in close collaboration with Production, Planning and the Commercial functions. Continuous improvement and ad hoc issue resolution to drive improvement of customer service levels with minimum inventory, at the lowest costs and in full compliance of all relevant regulations and standards is critical.

Responsibilities:

What You'll Do:

Supply Chain Excellence: lead and participate in cross-functional business process design sessions as a supply chain SME, ensure that the processes are designed for ultimate business success and efficiency.

Standard Processes: Sales & operations planning, supply & demand management; production planning and MRP

Performance management:Develop key metrics with improvement targets

Tracking and reporting of performance and monitor gaps

Establish analytics and reporting to track and demonstrate performance improvement, gap analysis and drive focus on the key areas

Develop measures and targets with external partners to align with internal performance management.

Logistics, Distribution and Warehousing:

Build the logistics and warehousing infrastructure that is right-sized to accommodate the business growth

Identify and establish strategic partnerships with logistics service providers (LSP) and 3PLs

Establish transportation routes and processes to enable smooth shipments of specialist product and equipment cross country and across borders. Build corporate expertise and understanding of transportation regulations

Implement the IBP system that underpins the business processes to establish a strong planning platform with flexibility to grow with the business.

Partner with the IT and software provider, provide supply chain business requirements, and participate in the development of the system to ensure it meets business needs

Testing and roll-out plus integration with other tools is also a key success factor

Define systems interfaces and management reports from the system to be used in the standard business meetings

Leadership and Team Development:

Build a world-class operations team; define roles and recruit a team of supply chain professionals as identified within the Supply Chain organization strategy.

Inventory Management:

Build an inventory management program with appropriate inventory target levels, replenishment and order cadence with Procurement and suppliers

Implement and lead an inventory optimization program to manage working capital whilst minimizing write-offs; track API and raw material inventory levels to meet demand and safety stocks

Business Development and Launch Management

Work with BD, Commercial, Demand & Supply Planning and Production to build a robust new product launch process and structure for the transition from BD through launch and commercial supply

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent with hands-on leadership experience of supply and demand planning, logistics and other supply chain operations

A least ten years of experience in Production, Logistics and Operations with a focus on designing and implementing supply chain processes and systems

Hands-on knowledge of developing and using SAP or similar planning tools for demand, supply and production planning

Experience of managing external partners, CMOs, and logistics providers; negotiating agreements and a full understanding of contractual terms to negotiate on behalf of the company

The person is instrumental in enabling business success through effective supply chain performance and structure, thus passion for continuous improvement and identifying drivers of cost and poor performance is critical to the success of this role

Cross-functional leadership and ability to influence peers and senior leaders to best meet business objectives: Procurement, Production, Regulatory, Quality, Logistics and Commercial

The person is the face of Nusano with our partners and therefore professionalism, credibility and integrity are critical qualities

An entrepreneurial approach to and experience of having successfully implemented supply chain operations
