Position Overview: Logistics Coordinator
Russell Tobin & Associates is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our remote team within the food delivery sector.
In this role, you will be an integral part of our logistics team, responsible for overseeing the delivery of shipments and managing transportation processes. Your focus will be on evaluating our current capabilities and identifying areas for improvement to enhance operational efficiency and align with our business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate logistics schedules and collaborate with essential stakeholders to ensure effective resource planning.
- Manage logistics schedules among vendors, internal teams, and distribution centers while verifying purchase orders and shipping documents for accuracy.
- Build and dispatch shipments to partner carriers.
- Arrange special shipping requirements as needed.
- Monitor and rectify shipping discrepancies.
- Prepare invoices and billing documentation.
- Ensure that all services meet established quality standards and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Conduct regular audits of logistics operations to maintain a comprehensive view of our logistics capabilities.
- Optimize transportation planning for maximum efficiency for customers and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate pre-shipment and post-shipment documentation.
- Oversee tracking and tracing of shipments.
- Manage proof of delivery processes.
- Address issues related to overages, shortages, and damaged shipments.
- Evaluate and respond to special service requests (e.g., lift-gate services, inside delivery).
- Collaborate with transportation providers and the freight payment team to ensure accurate cost management.
- Handle claims related to damage and loss.
- Assist in resolving safety, service, and operational challenges.
Qualifications:
- Experience in logistics and transportation roles is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree is advantageous.
