Job Summary

Crown Power and Equipment is seeking a highly skilled Service Writer to serve as a liaison between our service department and our internal and external customer base. As a Service Writer, you will assist the Service Manager in coordinating daily operations while providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Communication: Field internal and external customer inquiries to the Service Department in a timely and professional manner.
  • Check-in/Check-out Process: Follow a standardized check-in/check-out process for all customer units to ensure accurate tracking and management.
  • Repair Timeline Updates: Communicate regularly with customers regarding repair timelines and updates on anticipated completion dates.
  • Logistics and Shipping: Assist in the logistics of trucking, washing, and other tasks as directed by the Service Manager or Assistant Service Manager.
  • Work Order Management: Open work orders as directed and maintain control until they are previewed, approved, and invoiced.
  • Warranty and Service Parts: Manage all warranty bins, service parts to be returned, oil sample submission, and tracking.
  • Customer Profile Updates: Update customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from the customer work order.
  • Service Warranty and Product Improvement Programs: Ensure all service warranty and Product Improvement Programs are completed and submitted within the required timeframe to receive maximum credit.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Safety and Reporting: Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments and maintain accurate and on-time reports.
Requirements
  • Computer Skills: Experience with basic computer functions.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Experience with basic accounting practices.
  • Report Analysis: Experience analyzing and interpreting basic internal reports.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license required.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Experience working cooperatively in a team environment and communicating effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in equipment service in the same or similar industry is required.
  • Background Check and Pre-employment Screenings: Candidate is required to successfully pass the pre-employment screenings, which include a background check, pre-employment drug testing, and driving record evaluation.
