Position Overview: Legal Review Program Coordinator

The Washington State Department of Revenue (DOR) is seeking a Legal Review Program Coordinator to play a pivotal role within the Administrative Review and Hearings Division. The Legal Review Program Coordinator will be tasked with:

  • Effectively resolving intricate cases.
  • Overseeing high-level executive cases.
  • Designing and conducting training programs.
  • Cultivating robust relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Managing the dissemination of Washington Tax Decisions.
  • Evaluating and endorsing critical determinations.

Key Duties include:

  • Assessing select drafts of significant determinations to ensure consistent application of state tax regulations.
  • Leading the publication process for Washington Tax Decisions.
  • Offering strategic recommendations to executive management regarding review petitions.
  • Representing the Director on cases that receive executive-level scrutiny.
  • Supervising training initiatives within the Administrative Review and Hearings Division.
  • Acting as a liaison to various departments within the DOR.
  • Composing determinations for assigned cases involving complex legal issues.
