Position Overview: Administrative Review Program Coordinator

The Washington State Department of Revenue (DOR) is seeking an Administrative Review Program Coordinator to play a pivotal role within the Administrative Review and Hearings Division. This position is designed for a legal expert with a forward-thinking approach to contribute to the development of this essential function.

The Administrative Review Program Coordinator will undertake the following key responsibilities:

  • Effectively resolving intricate cases.
  • Overseeing high-level executive cases.
  • Designing and conducting training programs.
  • Cultivating robust relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Managing the publication process of Washington Tax Decisions.
  • Evaluating and endorsing significant determinations.

Core Duties include:

  • Reviewing selected drafts of important determinations to ensure consistency with state tax legislation.
  • Leading the publication process for Washington Tax Decisions.
  • Offering strategic recommendations to executive management regarding petitions for review.
  • Representing the Director in cases undergoing executive-level review.
  • Supervising training initiatives within the Administrative Review and Hearings Division.
  • Acting as a liaison across various divisions within the Department.
  • Drafting determinations for assigned cases involving complex legal issues.
