Laboratory Services Coordinator

As a Laboratory Services Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory services. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining safety, compliance, and efficiency within the lab environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support Role: Serve as the backup for gas management personnel, assisting with gas exchanges and installations during their absence.
- Coordination: Facilitate the delivery of laboratory services, including gases, liquid nitrogen, dry ice, and deep cleaning, by collaborating with lab support teams.
- Decontamination: Conduct thorough decontamination procedures on designated equipment to eliminate harmful pathogens, adhering to established safety protocols.
- Safety Compliance: Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing decontamination tasks, ensuring compliance with safety measures and regulatory standards.
- Waste Management: Manage the handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials in accordance with legal and organizational guidelines.
- Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect laboratory equipment and tools, initiating repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Documentation: Complete relevant paperwork in line with Good Documentation Practices.
- Alarm Response: Respond to equipment alarms and alerts, coordinating with relevant parties to address issues promptly.
- Customer Liaison: Act as the primary contact for laboratory staff, facilitating their needs and coordinating activities.
- Inventory Oversight: Manage daily lab environments and oversee stock items, including glassware, lab coats, PPE, and consumables.
- Vendor Coordination: Assist in coordinating waste removal from labs, ensuring compliance with appropriate waste streams and third-party vendors.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Meet regularly with key stakeholders to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Safety Collaboration: Work closely with safety representatives to maintain high safety standards within the laboratory.
- Training and Induction: Provide orientation for new staff and visitors, ensuring they are familiar with lab protocols.
- Cross-Training: Participate in cross-training initiatives to support various lab support areas.
