About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contracts Program Assistant to join our team at the State of Washington. As a key member of our procurement and contract administration team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our contract management processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Development and Administration: Assist in the development, review, and administration of contracts, including the creation of contract documents, negotiation of contract terms, and management of contract amendments.
  • Procurement and Contract Support: Provide support to procurement and contract teams, including the preparation of procurement documents, coordination of bid openings, and management of contract records.
  • Contract Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, laws, and policies related to procurement and contract administration, and identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contract management.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including state agencies, contractors, and vendors, to ensure seamless contract management processes.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Three years of recent professional experience as a legal assistant, law clerk, or administrative professional with direct experience assisting in contracts administration or related experience. An associate degree in business administration, public administration, business law, or a closely allied field may be substituted for two years of qualifying experience.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, with a basic knowledge of Excel and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with Washington State contracting laws and regulations is highly desirable.
