Job Summary

The Olympia School District is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated School Psychologist Intern to join our team. As a key member of our Special Services Programs, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and social-emotional needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the coordination of building-based Special Services Programs, including attending multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and participating in referral, evaluation, and re-evaluation processes for special education.
  • Evaluate student's current level of intellectual functioning, potential social development, or academic performance in reading, math, written language, and knowledge under the supervision of certificated staff.
  • Act as a liaison among administrators, educators, parents, and community service providers to facilitate effective communication and support.
  • Provide behavioral support and interventions under the supervision of certificated staff, including participating in or providing a continuum of behavioral interventions for students.
  • Assist in the development of social skills activities for students or groups of students.
Requirements
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
  • Skills to communicate effectively, problem solve, and work with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of curriculum, education code, district policies, and problem-solving methodology.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods, maintain and verify completeness of records, meet schedules and deadlines, and communicate in oral and written form.
Working Conditions

This is a 7.0 hour per day, one-year only position. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in meeting the needs of students and staff.
