Job Summary

The Olympia School District is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated School Psychologist Intern to join our team. As a key member of our Special Services Programs, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and social-emotional needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Intervention
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of student behavior and academic performance under the supervision of a certified school psychologist.
    • Develop and implement behavioral interventions to support students with diverse needs.
  • IEP Management
    • Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
    • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure the successful transition of students into and out of the school.
  • Classroom Support
    • Provide consultation and support to teachers on strategies for managing student behavior and promoting academic success.
    • Develop and implement social skills activities for students or groups of students.
  • Family Support
    • Provide support and resources to families to help them navigate the special education process.
    • Facilitate parent support and discussion groups to promote family engagement and empowerment.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Master's degree in School Psychology or related field.
    • Completion of internship or practicum experience in school psychology.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including students, teachers, and families.
    • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
