About The Role
The IT Support Specialist II plays a crucial role in assisting Altasciences' internal IT service clients with their utilization of tools provided by the IT department, including Windows desktop and laptop systems, tablets, enterprise software, and mobile devices. The IT Support Specialist II addresses and monitors customer inquiries and solutions through an IT Service Management platform.

What You'll Do Here
  • Address incidents and service requests from our internal IT service clients via our Freshservice IT Service Management platform.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets through diligent use of our IT Asset Management system.
  • Embrace our IT Customer Support objectives, guiding principles, and operational practices.
  • Uphold a high level of integrity, particularly regarding confidentiality and regulatory compliance related to information and data access.
  • Assist in developing solutions for common or recurring support challenges.
  • Collaborate with other IT departments to facilitate the implementation of technology and innovation initiatives.
  • Exhibit professionalism in both oral and written communication, ensuring clarity, conciseness, organization, and comprehensibility for the intended audience.
  • Engage with other teams and individuals to gather diverse perspectives and insights during planning and decision-making processes.
  • Actively share opinions, experiences, knowledge, and expertise with colleagues seeking feedback and collaboration.
  • Be prepared to work across all Canadian sites as necessary.
  • Participate in the IT Support phone rotation during evenings, weekends, and when the department is typically closed.
What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Preferred: College degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strongly desired: CompTIA certifications (A+, Network+, Security+).
  • Intermediate to advanced expertise in configuring, installing, and troubleshooting desktop Windows operating systems.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of desktop, laptop, and tablet PC hardware.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in common Windows desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, Antivirus/Antimalware, Webex, Zoom, Teams, and web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge).
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of iPhone and Android mobile technology.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of VPN technology, fundamental TCP/IP protocols (DHCP, DNS, IP Addressing/Subnets, TCP, UDP, ICMP), Windows Active Directory, RDP, Mobile Device Management, Windows Deployment Services, Remote Monitoring and Management systems, IT Service Management, and IT Asset Management systems.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies and procedures.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Bilingual proficiency in both French and English.

The estimated pay range for this position is $ $ per hour. Please note that hourly rates/salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location, as well as internal equity and market data.
