Position Overview:

WholeTrees Structures, a forward-thinking organization dedicated to sustainable forestry and innovative timber construction, is in search of an Eastern Region Sales Director. As a leader in Structural Round Timber (SRT) and Sawn Heavy Timber (SHT) solutions, we are committed to excellence in the commercial construction sector.

The Eastern Region Sales Director will play a pivotal role in driving demand and generating revenue for WholeTrees Structures by fostering relationships with clients and key stakeholders within the commercial construction landscape. This role necessitates a high degree of autonomy and self-motivation to fulfill the responsibilities outlined below. Regular travel within the region is a requirement.

The ideal candidate possesses a robust understanding of the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, a passion for eco-friendly design, and a mindset geared towards innovation. Key responsibilities include market expansion, direct sales efforts, project estimation, and finalizing sales agreements. After mastering the company's unique sales methodology, this individual will collaborate with leadership to devise strategies for penetrating broader markets for WholeTrees Structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture enduring relationships with clients, including developers, architects, general contractors, and engineers, by delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of SRT/SHT, encompassing forestry practices, sustainability, design principles, market trends, and structural construction.
  • Represent WholeTrees Structures to the extensive developer, design, and contractor communities.
  • Identify, assess, and quantify new sales prospects.
  • Engage with and qualify incoming leads and inquiries.
  • Serve as a project consultant and liaison to the design community.
  • Develop and present innovative project solutions that add value.
  • Engage with customers to raise awareness, provide education, solicit referrals, identify new opportunities, and gather market intelligence.
  • Collaborate effectively with the WholeTrees Structures team.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on WholeTrees Structures' solutions, services, and product offerings.
  • Prepare and present quotes, negotiate terms, and finalize new contracts.
  • Drive revenue through a value-added sales approach.
  • Create a territory plan and generate necessary reports and forecasts.
  • Maintain and manage HubSpot CRM proactively.
  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends to support sales strategies.
  • Produce accurate sales forecasts using existing CRM workflows.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated success in sales development focused on structural solutions, sustainability, and mass timber construction.
  • Commitment to safety in all work practices.
  • Exceptional listening skills.
  • Strong professional communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Technical proficiency and business acumen.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex design challenges.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction.
  • Aptitude for managing multiple requests and time-sensitive demands while achieving financial and volumetric targets.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency in reaching goals and key deliverables, taking initiative and contributing innovative ideas.
  • Contribute actively to team efforts, playing both leadership and supportive roles.
  • Proficient in core company sales tools, including Google Suite and MS Office.
  • Driven, resilient, and team-oriented with a strong competitive spirit.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, in-person and remotely.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary will be aligned with experience, with opportunities for advancement. Following the initial 30 days of full-time employment, a comprehensive benefits package will be offered, including paid holidays, accrued paid time off, and health benefits.
