The Eastern Region Sales Manager will play a crucial role in driving demand and revenue for WholeTrees Structures by cultivating relationships with clients and key stakeholders within the commercial construction sector. This role necessitates a high degree of autonomy and self-motivation to fulfill the responsibilities outlined below. Regular travel within the region is a requirement.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) community, a fervor for sustainable design, and a mindset geared towards innovation. Key responsibilities encompass market development, direct sales efforts, project estimation, and closing sales. Following a thorough understanding of the company's unique sales methodology, this individual will collaborate with company leadership to devise strategies for expanding WholeTrees Structures' market reach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and nurture enduring relationships with clients, including developers, architects, general contractors, and engineers, by delivering exceptional customer service.
- Gain a thorough understanding of SRT/SHT, encompassing aspects such as forestry, sustainability, design, commercial commodity trends, construction markets, and structural building.
- Represent WholeTrees Structures to a diverse audience of developers, designers, and contractors.
- Identify, assess, and quantify new sales opportunities.
- Engage with and qualify incoming leads and inquiries.
- Act as a project consultant and liaison to the design community.
- Develop and present innovative project solutions that add value.
- Engage clients to enhance awareness, provide education, solicit referrals, identify new opportunities, and gather market intelligence.
- Collaborate effectively across the WholeTrees Structures team.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for WholeTrees Structures' solutions, services, and product offerings.
- Prepare quotes, negotiate terms, and finalize new contracts.
- Drive revenue through a value-added selling approach.
- Create a territory plan and prepare necessary reports and forecasts.
- Proactively manage and maintain HubSpot CRM.
- Stay informed about the latest industry trends to support sales strategies.
- Generate accurate sales forecasts using existing CRM workflows.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated success in sales development focused on structural solutions, sustainability, and mass timber construction.
- Commitment to safety in the workplace.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Strong professional communication abilities, including written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Solid technical knowledge.
- Strong business acumen.
- Proficient problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex design challenges.
- BA/BS degree in Engineering or Architecture is preferred.
- Experience in commercial construction (3+ years preferred).
- Aptitude for managing multiple requests and time constraints while achieving financial and volumetric objectives for the assigned territory.
- Exhibit a sense of urgency in reaching goals and key deliverables, taking initiative without direction and contributing innovative ideas.
- Actively participate in team efforts, playing a vital role in the smooth operation of teams in both leadership and support roles.
- Effective use of core company sales tools such as Google Suite and MS-Office.
- Driven, resilient, and team-oriented with a strong competitive spirit.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, both in-person and remotely.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary will be commensurate with experience, with opportunities for advancement. Following the initial 30 days of full-time employment, a comprehensive benefits package will be offered, including paid holidays, accrued paid time off, and health benefits.
