Position Overview:
WholeTrees Structures, a forward-thinking organization dedicated to sustainable forestry and innovative timber construction, is in search of an Eastern Region Sales Director. We specialize in providing advanced Structural Round Timber (SRT) and Sawn Heavy Timber (SHT) solutions.

The Eastern Region Sales Director will play a crucial role in driving demand and revenue for WholeTrees Structures by fostering relationships with clients and key stakeholders within the commercial construction sector. This role demands independent decision-making and a proactive approach to fulfilling the responsibilities outlined below. Regular travel within the region is expected.

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) community, a commitment to sustainable practices, and a mindset geared towards innovation. Key responsibilities encompass market development, direct sales efforts, project estimation, and successful closure of sales. After mastering the company's distinctive sales methodology, this individual will collaborate with leadership to devise strategies for expanding WholeTrees Structures' market reach.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and nurture enduring relationships with clients, including developers, architects, general contractors, and engineers through outstanding customer service.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of SRT/SHT, including aspects of forestry, sustainability, design, market trends, and structural construction.
  • Represent WholeTrees Structures to a diverse audience of developers, designers, and contractors.
  • Identify, assess, and quantify new sales opportunities.
  • Engage with and qualify incoming leads and inquiries.
  • Act as a consultant and liaison for the design community.
  • Develop and present innovative project solutions that add value.
  • Engage with clients to raise awareness, educate, request referrals, identify new opportunities, and gather market intelligence.
  • Collaborate effectively with the WholeTrees Structures team.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on WholeTrees Structures' solutions, services, and product offerings.
  • Prepare quotes, negotiate terms, and finalize new contracts.
  • Drive revenue through a value-oriented sales approach.
  • Create a territory plan and generate necessary reports and forecasts.
  • Maintain and manage HubSpot CRM effectively.
  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends to enhance sales strategies.
  • Produce accurate sales forecasts using established CRM workflows.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Demonstrated success in sales development focused on structural solutions, sustainability, and mass timber construction.
  • Commitment to safety in the workplace.
  • Exceptional listening skills.
  • Strong professional communication abilities -- written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Technical proficiency and business acumen.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to navigate complex design challenges.
  • A BA/BS degree in Engineering or Architecture is preferred.
  • Experience in commercial construction (3+ years preferred).
  • Aptitude for managing multiple requests and time-sensitive demands while achieving financial and volumetric objectives for the assigned territory.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency in reaching goals and key deliverables. Take initiative and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Actively participate in team efforts and contribute to the smooth operation of teams in both leadership and supportive roles.
  • Proficient use of essential company sales tools: Google Suite, MS-Office, etc.
  • Demonstrated drive, resilience, and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, both in-person and remotely.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary will be commensurate with experience, with opportunities for advancement. A comprehensive benefits package will be provided after the initial period of full-time employment, including paid holidays, accrued paid time off, and health benefits.
