As the Senior Vice President of Risk and Compliance Engineering at Western Union's technology division, you will be instrumental in guiding Product Teams and influencing the trajectory of our solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Offer strategic guidance and technical leadership to the product engineering team, ensuring the creation of innovative solutions that align with our organizational objectives.
  • Oversee the formulation of the product technology strategy and deliver solutions that promote simplification, adaptability, reusability, and scalability.
  • Lead the scalable development of products to expedite market readiness, leverage scale advantages for cost-effectiveness, and improve reliability.
  • Shape product solutions and architectures while collaborating closely with executive leadership to propel technology initiatives.
  • Direct product engineering teams in crafting technology strategies, including coding standards, continuous integration, automated deployments, platform scalability, and service orientation, ensuring uniformity in processes, architecture, security, and technical governance aimed at building top-tier products, enhancing developer experience, and fulfilling market strategies.
  • Establish comprehensive reporting, metrics, and benchmarks to ensure timely, high-quality, continuous delivery. Implement premier security and compliance practices to maintain the highest standards throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Engage as an executive who adeptly mentors the team to address complex challenges, ensuring scalable solutions that can adapt to future architectural transformations and designs.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in technology engineering, architecture, design, and software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Experience in financial services, particularly in Risk and Compliance, is crucial.
  • Thorough understanding of current industry trends, technologies, and best engineering practices.
  • Proficient in composable architecture and knowledgeable about the technical components of various platforms.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Experienced technology leader with a profound grasp of innovative technologies.
  • Proven track record in defining architectural artifacts for complex solutions.
  • Skilled in developing both backend and frontend solutions utilizing diverse architectural approaches.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer/Data Science, IT, Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
