Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative plays a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for patients and families at VCU Health. This position provides exceptional customer service, coordinates materials management, and supervises clerical activities to maintain a smooth and efficient environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality customer service to patients, families, and medical staff
  • Establish and maintain an environmental control plan
  • Coordinate materials management and supervise clerical activities
  • Handle business functions, including reception, scheduling, and registration
  • Secure patient information, ensure accurate registration data, and validate insurance eligibility
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Previous experience with computers, Microsoft Office software, and navigating the internet
  • Ability to type 40 words per minute
  • Previous work experience in a healthcare setting and knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and interact with patients and families in a courteous and respectful manner.
