The Vice President of Treasury Operations is accountable for managing the organization's treasury and accounts payable activities. This position entails overseeing cash management, ensuring financial liquidity, optimizing investment portfolios, managing credit lines, and leading the accounts payable department to guarantee prompt and precise payment processing. The Vice President will formulate and execute strategies aimed at enhancing financial outcomes, mitigating risks, and facilitating the company's growth aspirations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Treasury Oversight
    • Establish and enforce treasury policies and procedures to ensure proficient management of cash and investments.
    • Oversee the organization’s cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational requirements.
    • Enhance investment strategies to maximize returns on excess funds while minimizing associated risks.
    • Maintain relationships with banking institutions and negotiate service agreements and fees.
    • Conduct ongoing forecasting and analysis of long-term cash requirements.
    • Supervise the management of debt and credit facilities, ensuring adherence to covenants.
    • Monitor and project cash positions, and manage intercompany financing.
    • Develop and implement strategies for managing currency risks and hedging activities.
    • Prepare and deliver treasury reports to executive management.
  • Accounts Payable Leadership
    • Direct the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and payments.
    • Establish and implement policies and procedures to enhance accounts payable processes and increase efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, accounting standards, and regulatory mandates.
    • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate payment terms and discounts.
    • Address escalated payment issues and disputes with suppliers.
    • Guide, mentor, and develop the accounts payable team.
  • Tax Compliance Management
    • Oversee tax return preparation and filing, tax research, internal audits, and strategic tax planning.
  • Strategic Financial Planning
    • Contribute to the formulation of the organization's financial strategy and planning.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership regarding financial trends, risks, and opportunities.
    • Support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives by offering treasury and accounts payable expertise.
  • Risk Management and Compliance
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with treasury and accounts payable operations.
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and external regulations.
    • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Treasury and/or Accounts Payable.

Skills and Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of cash management, investment strategies, debt management, and currency risk management.
  • Experience in overseeing accounts payable operations and enhancing process efficiencies.
  • Proficient in cash flow forecasting.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, adaptable to various communication styles.
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Great Plains Systems is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality customer service.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

This role requires occasional onsite presence at designated offices, determined by business needs as directed by leadership.
